I wrapped up at Adobe. The experience was great, and Maaz and I will keep working on the Halide mutation testing project for the remainder of the school year. Mutating an embedded DSL has its own challenges, but we have the advantage of working with Halide maintainers directly.
My team (René's) at UW submitted a paper to ICSE. We are quite happy with how this turned out. Ben was very nice to allow me to be part of this project.
I submitted most of the graduate applications I wanted to submit. Currently, I am interviewing with some schools and getting on my letter writers' cases to submit those letters. Half of the schools I am applying to are in Europe, so I see a lot of variability compared to other applicants from my lab.
Patrick Lam was in town to give a talk at Amazon, so we spent some time exploring Seattle and tried a couple of things at Fugon. I loved the vibe, and the food was mediocre, so I wouldn't return. I enjoyed walking with him.
January will be crazy with TA work, a paper push for Halide, and PhD application interviews. There will be no grading for CSE492R. I still expect a lot of coordinating and mentoring.
